Suur-Savon Sähkö Ltd upgraded fuel data management to digital age with Lahti Precision’s mScales software solution. Current vehicle weighing systems are based on a traditional solution where the scales are equipped and the software is localized. Thus, consolidating information from different locations requires a lot of work hours and the possibility of errors also exists.
Aki Padatsu, the Development Manager of Suur-Savon Sähkö Ltd, explains: “Nowadays, fuel information for billing and reporting has to be collected from several different systems and many people are involved in the processing of the data. The steps also include manual data transfer to Excel spreadsheets. Reporting on spent fuels is monitored on a monthly basis. ”
mScales is a Software as a Service solution where the weighing service with all data is located on an Internet server. The subscriber will thus have access to all of his horizontal systems anytime and anywhere via an Internet connection. Centralized data management and reporting minimizes errors, and speeds up order management and billing. In the scale project of Suur-Savon Sähkö Ltd, mScales service includes five reception scales in different locations and four unmeasured locations. In these, the load is weighed elsewhere and the weight is entered manually into the system. The entire project was implemented during 2018.
“Upgrading the scales to mScales brings our fuel data management to the digital age. Fuel information for all locations is aggregated into one system, which simplifies billing and reporting. The users of the locations analyze the load-specific fuel humidity as before and feed them into the system. The data required for reporting is automatically transferred by mScales to the Suur-Savon Sähkö Ltd data warehouse as soon as the moisture is analyzed. In the future, we will receive the fuel usage report with a delay of approximately two days, as it took before a month. ”
