Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto takes care of waste management for households and municipalities in its cooperation area. Its wide area of operation includes Kanta-Häme, Varsinais-Suomi, Satakunta and Pirkanmaa, which gives the company significant responsibility in organising waste management. All waste from neighbouring municipalities arrives at Loimi-Häme Waste Management, although waste transport is handled by private transport companies. Tamtron has provided the company with the necessary weighing services since the company’s early days.
Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto has several truck scales supplied by Tamtron (Tamtron’s Lahti unit, formerly known as Lahti Precision). The first scale was delivered in 1996, shortly after the company was founded. The bulk of the cash flow of Loimi-Häme waste management is based on weighing data from truck scales, therefore the scales have to operate reliably throughout their life cycle.
“Tamtron’s expert maintenance, spare parts and verification service, as well as our long-term customer relationship, provide a solid basis for cooperation. Over the years, we have also received help with programme changes when reporting needs or waste legislation have changed,” says Heta Nurmi from Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto Oy.
Digital weighing service offers flexibility in working life
In recent years, Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto has also adopted the digital weighing service mScales, which has been a significant help in modernising the company’s business.
“Our entire 25-year journey has been with Tamtron. Even before mScales, we were using their weighing software, so it has been a close cooperation all along. mScales has deepened our cooperation even more, as the weighing software is tailored to our needs,” says Nurmi.
mScales connects both the scale and the business system into a unified whole. The service automates the weighing process and manages the weighings in real-time. All information related to weighing is easily accessible to each stakeholder from the cloud-based service. The digital weighing service has made the company’s business more efficient and brought a new level of flexibility to the daily lives of employees.

The successful cooperation between Tamtron and Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto has been based on open interaction from the very beginning. Over the years, Loimi-Hämeen Jätehuolto’s needs have changed, but Tamtron has been able to respond with customer-oriented and tailored solutions. Of course, there have been some bumps along the way, but thanks to seamless cooperation, problems have been solved quickly.
“Working with Tamtron has been very flexible. We have been interacting throughout and they have been great at taking on board our development suggestions. They have always tried to meet all our requests, or at least offer other solutions. By discussing together, we have found solutions to all the problems that have arisen at the beginning of our development. Tamtron acquired Lahti Precision’s business in 2023 and will continue to operate under the Tamtron brand.
